Adolescent Alice
She fell asleep once
walked about that way for days
banging her head into walls
dreaming of mushrooms, caterpillars
walruses and queens.
Growing larger and smaller
to fit her needs.
Adults couldn't break through
to her garden
They weren't small enough
to enter in
Menarche roses
a white bunny in gloves
a mushroom phallus
with a giant caterpillar
smoking opium
One day she wakes up
They were just the cards
of the deck she was dealt
Alice's Nervous Breakdown
Alice returns to Wonderland
for her grand coronation
Her psychiatrist gives her one pill
which makes her body large
and her brain small,
so small,
she ceases to see any wonder at all.

I especially love the line they were only the cards of the deck she was dealt. I love your writing. A write some fun stuff on Writerscafe.org, but a lot of my stuff is still really angry....I wish I could get beyond that.
I do have a sweet children's poem posted on my blog right now....one of the first things I wrote when I started writing again in December....So I guess I do have some sweetness and light...
Take care !
Thanks Lavender. I feel that I have this poem's heart now and the rest is merely cosmetic. I knew I had its heart when writing it hurt.

Hey LBreeze.
Sometimes I write out the rage, so it becomes art, rather than something that poisons me. Don't be too afraid of what you write. Write it out, perfect the craft of it and be proud of creation, then go do something else like garden.
Lucy
Thanks LBreeze!
